In order to keep the forklift battery in good condition and prolong its service life, the following issues should be paid attention to during daily use and maintenance.
1. Cleaning. If dust accumulates on the surface of the battery, the dust will absorb water and cause leakage between the electrodes. When checking the electrolyte level, clean the surface of the battery regularly with a damp cloth and dry it.It should be noted that if you do not wipe the top of the battery with a dry cloth, but wipe off the dust or cover the battery with a vinyl film, this will generate static electricity and cause the battery to explode.Do not put your fingers or dry fingers into the battery connection plug, and do not touch the battery connection electrode, otherwise it will cause static electricity and short circuit. The battery should be cleaned before charging.
.When handling, disassembling or installing the forklift battery, You should pay attention to vibration prevention. The forklift battery should be securely fastened on the truck.
.The starting time of each use of the starter should not exceed 5S, and the interval between two uses should not be shorter than 15S. If the starting is unsuccessful for three consecutive times, you should find a forklift maintenance technician to find out the reason.
.When filling the battery with electrolyte, keep the outside of the battery clean and prevent dust from entering the inside of the battery. Frequently wipe off the dust and other unclean materials on the battery surface of the battery forklift, and keep the vent hole of the filling port unblocked.
.Distilled water Supplement: The daily work is to fill distilled water to the specified water level. In the long-term, we should use the recommended distilled water.Do not mix tap water, it will shorten the service life, because it contains many impurities such as chlorine, iron and so on.
.Battery Storage: Make sure that the battery is fully charged before placing the battery in storage.Note that before charging, add distilled water so that the electrolyte is slightly higher than the specified position. When not in use, the battery should be stored in a low temperature and dark place (with good ventilation, the temperature should be low).Sometimes it is necessary to check the specific gravity, when it is lower than 1.200, it should be charged.Perform an equalization charge every two months. The battery is the life of a forklift, so every maintenance work should be recorded.
.Timely remove the corrosives on the wire joints and poles, tighten the joints, and apply protective agent.
.Regularly check the electrolyte density and liquid level of the forklift battery.
.Check the discharge level of the forklift battery frequently. In summer, when the power input exceeds 50%, and the discharge exceeds 25% in winter, the battery should be replenished in time.
