As the DC power supply for forklifts, tractors, trucks, underground mining locomotives and other equipment, forklift batteries are widely used in airports, stations, ports, vegetable and fruit markets, industrial and mining enterprise warehouses and other places.
Forklift battery refers to a battery dedicated to forklifts that use batteries to operate, that is, the battery installed in the battery of an electric forklift. Now let us introduce “ How long is the service life of forklift battery? The maintenance of electric forklift battery”
一. How long is the service life of forklift battery?
Forklift battery life is generally about 2-3 years, if used and maintained properly, it can be used for more than 4 years; If used and maintained improperly, it can be damaged early within a few months.
二.The maintenance of electric forklift battery
1.The electric forklift battery should be initially charged before use. Insufficient initial charge will affect the rated capacity of the electric forklift battery.
2.When the electric forklift battery is put into use, it must be in a fully charged state, and the electric forklift battery that is insufficiently charged cannot be used.
3.The electric forklift battery should try to avoid overcharging and overdischarging (the single electric forklift battery voltage is overdischarged when the voltage drops to 1.70V.)
4.The electric forklift battery should be charged immediately after used, and the maximum interval time should not exceed 24 hours.
5.When charging, pay attention to observe the changing state of the electrolyte. If there is any abnormality, it should be eliminated in time. The density of the electrolyte of the battery should be checked regularly (the density is 1.280+0.005g/cm3 in a fully charged state, 30°C), and it must be adjusted if it does not match.
6.Batteries that are not used for a long time must be recharged once a month (common charging method).
7.For batteries that have not been used for a long time or have been used normally for 2 to 3 months, an equalization charge is required.
8.If the battery has a large voltage difference during use, the cause should be identified in time and the battery should be charged equally. If the situation is serious, the battery needs to be replaced.
9.The surface of the battery, connecting wires and bolts should always be kept clean and dry, and should not be exposed to open flames.
10.When the battery is connected, the contact surface must be kept in good condition to avoid sparks burning the poles or causing the battery to explode. This happens frequently and requires special attention.
11.Do not drop any harmful substances into the battery. Instruments for measuring electrolyte density, temperature and liquid level should be kept clean.
12.Do not put any conductive objects on the battery cover, so as not to cause the battery to short-circuit and cause the battery to explode.
13.When charging the battery, it should be charged in a cool, ventilated place and away from open flame environment to avoid hydrogen explosion and unnecessary losses.
